The Ultimate Quebec Blend

This Quebec recipe, salty, spicy, and sweet, will enhance all your dishes. Maple syrup, both sweet and bold, seasons even the simplest dishes. The Trapper's Blend can be used like a flavored sea salt, meaning with absolutely everything.

The Famous Trapper's Blend

The Trapper's Blend is composed of sugar, black pepper, coriander, garlic, onion, red bell pepper, sea salt, maple sugar, flavor, canola vegetable oil.

This Quebecois sweet and savory spice blend is a must-have in Terre Exotique cuisine. Ideal with salmon and grilled meats, the Trapper's Blend is the original touch that transports you to a cabin in the middle of the maples...

Maple nuggets are the ingredient that brings the sweet touch to this spice blend! Maple nuggets are obtained by evaporation at 123°C of the syrup. This syrup is obtained by harvesting maple sap, an emblematic activity of Quebec in early spring. Brought to a boil, the sap becomes syrup, which crystallizes into maple nuggets.

A flavored sea salt that is entirely natural. The Trapper's Blend can be used like a flavored sea salt, meaning with absolutely everything. Sprinkle it on your savory dishes before or after cooking.

Completely natural, without flavor enhancers, the Trapper's Blend also consists of onion, garlic, red bell pepper, pepper, coriander, and oil. Flavors that instantly enhance your meats or vegetables. The Trapper's Blend reveals a surprising and totally addictive taste!

This Quebec recipe, salty, spicy, and sweet, is so easy to use that it gives the feeling of suddenly being transformed into a three-star chef. A flagship product of the Terre Exotique range, it deserves its place of honor on your spice shelf.

Where Does the Trapper's Blend Come From?

The Incredible Story of the Trapper's Blend

This blend is the result of chance! A trapper from the Canadian far north once spilled salt into his pot of maple sugar. Not wanting to waste his precious sugar, he used the resulting mixture on his dried bison meat. Thus was born this great Quebec classic.

The personality of the Trapper's Blend is characterized by the use of maple nuggets, obtained by evaporation of the syrup. Maple syrup is to Quebecois what baguette is to the French: an institution. However, its production is long and difficult: it takes 40 liters of sap to obtain 1 liter of syrup, and 100 liters of sap for 1 kg of sugar.

Quebecois Cuisine Pays Tribute to Maple Syrup

Maple syrup and nuggets are found in many Quebecois dishes. Quebec gastronomy is celebrated during two annual highlights: during the end-of-year celebrations and in spring, during the Sugar Shack season. These places located in the maple groves are an ode to the traditional cuisine of this region of Canada.

As a cuisine that "sticks to the ribs," Quebecois cuisine adds maple syrup to fish, game, and of course desserts. Among the most famous dishes: baked beans, ham with syrup, or pork rinds.
