Chaï Usage in India
In India, not a day goes by, not a meeting, not a break... without a cup of chaï, also known as masala chaï, masala tea, or even Chaï latte. This beverage is a spiced decoction, to which tea, milk, or sugar can be added. In Ayurvedic medicine, widely used in India, it contributes to the balance of the body and mind.
How to Use Chaï?
Prepared pure, in decoction with water, chaï is a good idea to rediscover the aroma of spices. For this, you need to put 200ml of water in a saucepan (equivalent to a mug), add a teaspoon of chaï digestion spices, boil for 15 minutes, filter and... enjoy.
An even simpler way is to prepare an infusion, in this case it is best to use a floating filter or a filter bag, pour boiling water over it and wait 10 minutes for optimal flavor diffusion.
How to Make Indian Chaï Latte?
For an Indian chaï latte: pour a cup of water and a cup of milk into a saucepan. Add 2 teaspoons of chaï digestion spices, 1 teaspoon of black tea, and 2 to 3 teaspoons of sugar. Let it all boil for 15 minutes. Filter and serve.
Cultural History
In Ayurveda, spices are widely used to bring well-being to the body and mind, unlike our Western culture, which uses them more in cooking and in small doses, to bring flavor and taste to dishes. Thus, each spice has Ayurvedic properties, to be combined and dosed for optimal action.
So the next time you leave the table feeling heavy and bloated... Have a digestion chaï, it can only do you good!
