TURMERIC: 3 QUICK N’ EASY RECIPES
Turmeric is all the rage at the moment, due to its medicinal properties and its warm saffron colour. It is traditionally used in Indian cuisine but also in cosmetics and is renowned for its healthy virtues.
Of course, it is used in curry, but also in health foods, detox juices and tasty health snacks!
Watch out, its strong yellow colour can stain fingers and clothes.
Goat’s cheese canapés with honey
These goat’s cheese canapés are perfect with a salad of raw vegetables.
Makes:4 canapés | Preparation: 10 min | Difficulty: easy
INGREDIENTS
- 4 slices of brown bread
- 1 roll of goat’s cheese
- honey
- walnuts
- turmeric
- Voatsiperifery black pepper
- Cut the goat’s cheese into slices about 1cm thick.
- In a bowl add 2 spoons of honey with 1 teaspoon of turmeric
- Place the slices of cheese on bread then drizzle over the honey-turmeric sauce.
- Cook for about 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle with Voatsiperifery pepper just before serving.
- Our tasty tip: add walnuts for a nutty crunch.

Carrot juice
This super refreshing juice will delight all the family at any time of the day – even try it at breakfast!
Preparation: 10 min | Difficulty: easy
INGREDIENTS
- 3 carrots
- 2 apples
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 glass water (200 ml)
- Mint for decoration
- Agave nectar
- Wash the carrots and apples and chop into small cubes.
- Place them in an electric blender then add the water and the ground turmeric.
- Our tasty tip: If you have a sweet tooth add a drop of agave nectar and decorate with a sprig of mint.
Pre-dinner savouries

INGREDIENTS
- 100ml warm water
- 20g flour
- 30ml groundnut or grape seed oil
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- Mix together the water, oil, flour and turmeric to a smooth paste.
- Fry the mixture in small quantities over a hot heat, as if you were making pancakes.
- When the mixture starts to turn golden brown and the sides start to lift away from the pan, remove and place on kitchen paper to absorb any excess oil.
- Sprinkle with fleur de sel.
- Serve with hummus or aubergine caviar.
