The Merveilles Recipe

Ingredients for the recipe:
- 250g of flour
- 50g of melted butter
- 20g of sugar
- 2 eggs
- A pinch of salt
- ½ sachet of baking powder
- 2 tbsp of rum
- 1 tbsp of orange blossom water
- 1 tsp of yuzu zest
- 1 tsp of vanilla brown sugar
- Powdered sugar
- Sunflower oil
Preparation:
Pour the flour into a bowl, add the sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the yuzu zest and the vanilla brown sugar. Then add the eggs, orange blossom water, and the rum.
Mix, and once the dough has formed, add the butter and mix again generously.
Shape the dough into a ball, cover it with plastic wrap, and chill in the refrigerator for 1h30. Transfer the dough to a work surface, dust with flour, and roll it out to a thickness of just 0.5 cm. Cut the dough into small rectangles measuring 2 cm in width by 8 cm in length.
Deep-fry the pastries in very hot sunflower oil. Turn them over and place them on paper towels.
Dust with powdered sugar before serving warm.
