Kings cake with Madagascar Vanilla

Recipe for Madagascar Vanilla King Cake, a Terre Exotique Signature

 

Ingredients:

Preparation:

  1. Mix the almond powder, sugars, and egg in a bowl. Add melted butter, vanilla pod seeds, rum, and amaretto, then mix again. Finally, add the pastry cream and stir.
  2. Transfer the almond cream into a piping bag. Spread it in the center of one puff pastry sheet. Moisten the edges with water using a brush, place the hidden figurine, and cover with the second puff pastry sheet.
  3. Press the edges firmly to seal the cake and prevent cream from escaping during baking.
  4. Prick a small hole in the center with a toothpick and decorate as desired.
  5. In a bowl, mix 2 egg yolks with a bit of milk, then brush this mixture over the cake for a golden finish.
  6. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 35 minutes.
